– Online – Live Office Hours with Jeff Patton & Jeff Gothelf
Friday, November 1, 2019 at 8:00 PDT / 11:00 EDT / 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET
Register now to spend 2 hours online with Jeff and Jeff, authors of Lean UX, Sense & Respond and User Story Mapping, discussing the challenges your organization faces implementing modern agile practices, product management, software engineering, design and scrum. Whenever we teach together it seems there’s never enough time to answer all the questions teams have about how to improve their ways of working. We thought we’d remedy that with these office hours. Each session will be 2 hours long and will have us walk through your toughest questions.
WHAT IS IT?
A 2-hour question and answer session with Jeff Patton and Jeff Gothelf focusing on the specific problems you’re facing with your team (or company) modernizing the way you to work. Questions we expect to answer include:
- How to focus on outcomes
- How to ensure that customer needs are always met
- What is dual-track agile?
- How do you scale product teams?
- What are some best practices for building successful storymaps?
- How to create a reliable delivery strategy?
- What does an agile roadmap look like?
- What makes for a good experiment?
- What is an MVP?
- How can I fit design and research into my sprints?
….and anything else that may be an obstacle for your team to deliver more value to your customers.
HOW WILL IT WORK?
Once registered you will receive an email with a link to the webinar and a link to a Slido page. The Slido page is where we will capture all the questions for the office hours session. We will open up this page a week before the webinar at which time you will be able to submit questions for us to answer and up/down vote questions other attendees suggested.
Based on the voting at the time of the webinar, we will work our way through as many questions as we can during the 2-hour session from the top voted item on down.
We will spend 10 minutes on each topic sharing experience, coaching tips, slides, sketches and templates for you to use after the session is over. After each 10 minute period we will check if the attendees want to continue discussing the current topic for another 5 minutes and proceed as that vote goes. If you’re familiar with Lean Coffee, it will be a lot like that.
WHAT DO I GET?
With each registration you get:
- Access to the Slido page and the webinar
- While each registration is “1 seat” it’s perfectly ok with us if you want to have other members of your team tune in from the same location
- We will record the session and make it available to you forever after the session
- We will send a recap email from both Jeffs sharing the key themes of the session, the key takeaways and resources to check out related to the discussion
- We will also share all of the material we showed in the webinar
MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION…
This is the first of quarterly office hour webinars we plan on doing together. If you have any feedback on the session you attend we’d love to hear it. That’s how we get better.
To have the best experience tune in to Office Hours through your laptop as we will be sharing our screens every now and again to show artifacts, slides, drawings, etc.
We reserve the right to edit the order or rank of the questions submitted and voted at our discretion. Hey, it’s our webinar 🙂
Chief troublemaker at Jeff Patton & Associates, Patton has been involved with Agile since before the term was coined. He has been one of the leading voices for cross-functional collaboration between product managers, designers and engineers for more than 20 years. Jeff is the author of User Story Mapping and one of the most popular speakers and trainers in the Agile world.
Gothelf is a reformed designer turned product manager turned consultant and coach. Having worked on many frustrating software design and development projects Jeff worked with his teams to find better ways of working. The fruit of that effort was Lean UX. Since then Jeff has written 2 more books (Sense & Respond, Lean vs Agile vs Design Thinking) and spends his time working with leadership and product teams at large organizations to increase their agility and customer-centricity.
